With a hard-earned 5-2 record, the Wakeland Wolverines are proving they can dominate any night of the week, trading classic Friday nights for a new era of Thursday evening showdowns. From the professional turf of The Star and Toyota Stadium, to the electric atmosphere of Kuykendall, the Wolverines are marking their territory across Frisco’s finest venues.
Currently sitting third in district, they’re showing that championship dreams don’t care what day of the week it is.
Through Cooper Dillingham’s lens, the story of a team redefining Texas high school football emerges. These images show the pride of Wakeland, who have embraced their “We Over Me” spirit while competing in some of the most impressive stadiums in North Texas, all while keeping their sights firmly set on the state playoffs.
“I hope that in exchange [for my photography], we’d get some students showing up to the football game to show love,” said Dillingham.
In these moments, we see exactly what makes this season – and this team – something special. The next Wakeland football game is at Sherman’s Bearcat Stadium, versus Sherman High, on Halloween Night. Kick off is at 7 pm.
