HOSA is kicking off the second quarter of this school year with the 2024 Fall Blood Drive and is asking all eligible Wolverines to consider making an important and impactful blood donation.
Health Occupation Students of America, or HOSA, is a club for future medical professionals here at Wakeland that boasts a history of community impact, ranging from bracelets for the elderly to cards for those in the hospital.
“The club is a great way for Wolverines to connect with other students at Wakeland who are also interested in the medical field,” junior Dinasha Pandey said.
HOSA students unite every semester to plan and execute a blood drive for local and state hospitals in dire need of vital materials.
Students are deemed eligible to donate if they are 16 or older, weigh more than 110 pounds, and meet other standards of good health.
The Blood Drive, which takes place on October 25, 2024, will allow eligible students interested in making a difference to go through the process of blood donation.
“Blood is used so much in hospitals, and donating even one pint can help others,” sophomore Sasha Boppana said.
If you are eligible for donation, please fill out the permission form by the door of Dr. Bennett’s room in E105 and consider stopping by the blood drive to help those in your community!
