If you are looking for a fun activity that is perfect for spring, check out Texas Tulips, the first tulip farm in Texas, where visitors can pick their own tulips and take photos.
Texas Tulips is located in Pilot Point, Texas. It was created by Pieter and Petra Koeman who brought a piece of their home in the Netherlands to Texas in 2015, by starting the first tulip farm in Texas. The Koemans were visiting Texas after Pieter’s dad passed away, and upon seeing how sunny and rich the soil was, they decided to move to Texas and create a very unique business.
At the tulip farm, there are roughly 100 tulips across 26 acres of land. Anyone can pick the flowers of their choice with a cost of three dollars per stem. When you walk into the tulip farm, you will be greeted by rows and rows of beautiful tulips. There are so many different colors and styles of tulips to pick there, and you can combine your favorites into a beautiful bouquet.
“I loved how there were so many different varieties of flowers and how we were able to take them home with us to make bouquets,” senior Sydney Pedini said.
While making a bouquet is super fun and a great way to remember your experience, visitors can also enjoy just taking pictures with the tulips.
“My experience was so much fun; I got to pick my favorite flowers with my best friends!” senior Isabelle Summers said. “The lines were fast and you get the freedom to pick the flowers yourself. My favorite part was taking pictures in the tulips. Totally recommend! 10/10!”
