CTE Center: Land of Opportunity
Total career readiness is within grasp in high school, and it comes in the form of Frisco’s CTE Center.
The Career and Technical Education program in Frisco ISD has completely changed the game when it comes to future and career readiness in high school. This building, already bright and shiny on the outside, offers even more golden opportunities within. After swinging open their doors all the way back in 2008, the nicknamed ‘CTE Center’ has sparked interests and careers for all who enter.
Courses in the CTE Center includes a wide variety of subjects usually only covered in college levels. The course career pathways offer insight into the realm of agriculture, arts & communication, information technology, architecture, government, law, education, health science, marketing, business management, finance, hospitality, science & technology, and many more.
CTE Student Andrew Smith agrees that “[The CTE Center]… is giving us great opportunities, especially to learn and grow as a person.“.
The resources and wisdom within these doors go far beyond standard education, and they allow students to truly explore and master their interests.
A FISD school board meeting held January 11th, 2022 discussed the possibility of a full-scale expansion of the already thriving facility. Since quintupling its original student count since 2008, the CTE center now has opportunity to keep up with the growth inside by doing the same on the outside.
Work is set to start later this year on a new wing and multi-story expansion on the growing campus. Tours of the future institute are available here.
