Spider-Man: No Way Home Hits the Big Screen

Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home breaks box office records. WARNING: This article contains spoilers.

Who is the Best Spider-Man? – According to Wakeland students, Andrew Garfield is the best Spider-Man, with Tom Holland placing 2nd and Tobey Maguire in last place.

On Dec. 17, Marvel released Spider-man: No Way Home, the third installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series.

Up until its release, there was plenty of hype surrounding the movie as fans were anticipating to see what Marvel had planned for Holland’s Peter Parker.

One of the biggest questions was whether or not Marvel would bring in the previous Peter Parkers, as all of the previous villains were making their return to the screen.

Spider-Man: No Way Home follows the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home.

After Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) reveals Spider-Man’s (Tom Holland) identity to the world, Peter Parker has to learn to juggle being a superhero while dealing with his personal life. After seeking help from Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Peter discovers what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Not only did the film feature Holland, but it also brought about the return of Tobey Maguire, Peter Parker/Spider-Man from director Sam Raimi’s original trilogy, and Andrew Garfield, the Peter Parker/Spider-Man from director Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man series.

Daredevil’s Charlie Cox also made an appearance as Matt Murdock, which was a surprise for fans.

Fans were not disappointed as the movie exceeded expectations.

While the return of Maguire and Garfield filled theaters with nostalgia, the movie made plenty of references to its predecessors.

One of the most beloved moments was when Garfield’s Peter Parker redeemed himself after saving Zendaya’s MJ, when he had failed to save Gwen Stacy, portrayed by Emma Stone, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. This moment allowed fans to gain closure over Garfield’s Spider-Man storyline.

Another esteemed moment was when Aunt May, portrayed by Marisa Tomei, reiterated the iconic Uncle Ben line “with great power comes great responsibility”.

Spider-Man: No Way Home received a rotten tomato score of 94% and an audience score of 98%.

Not only has the movie received high audience ratings, but No Way Home has also destroyed the box office.

According to indianexpress.com, Spider-Man: No Way Home has made $1.37 billion worldwide, ranking it as the 12th highest grossing film globally. Not only is it ranked 12th globally, but it is ranked as the 10th highest grossing film in America.

While Holland’s previous installations were more lighthearted, Spider-Man: No Way Home was more emotional and allowed viewers to see a whole new side of Holland’s Peter Parker.

Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin brought out the vengeful side of Peter as he put him to the test after killing Aunt May.

While Holland’s performance was outstanding, fans turned their attention to Garfield as he stole the show.

After the return of Garfield as Spider-Man, many fans are petitioning for a third The Amazing Spider-Man with the hashtag #maketasm3 trending on social media.

Spider-Man: No Way Home has managed to break box office records within its first few weeks of release and has become a favorite for Marvel fans.

If you haven’t seen it by now, make sure to reserve a seat at your nearby theater.
