It’s a love story, and baby she said yes! It’s official! Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are finally engaged!
On Tuesday, Taylor and Travis posted a joint slideshow to Instagram announcing their engagement, captioning it “Your English teacher and gym teacher are getting married 🧨”. They completely broke the internet, and no one could escape the announcement for the whole day. Taylor and Travis have been together since 2023, and started dating after Travis expressed interest by going to her concert in Kansas City making her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. He didn’t get the chance to talk to her, but later mentioned her on his podcast “New Heights” hoping she’d give him a shot. Here they are 2 years later, Taylor even went on New Heights to announce her new album, and just a day after the podcast episode aired Travis proposed!
Millions around the world are ecstatic, and are now more excited for her new album, “The Life Of A Showgirl”, to come out. With this engagement announcement, even college professors can not contain their excitement. University Of Tennessee professor Matthew Pittman went mega viral for canceling class in light of the singer’s announcement. In a TikTok, he was recorded saying “Taylor and Travis just got engaged. Due to this information, I can’t focus, you all can’t focus. Class is canceled, get outta here. We need time to process this information.” The video gained over 200,000 likes in a day, and students from the class were quoted saying “and just like that, he became my favorite professor.”
Even brands are in on the excitement online. Panera Bread posted an edit poking fun at Taylor’s love of sourdough bread. They posted a re-creation of their logo with a photo of Taylor adding text saying “It’s a loaf story, baby just say yeast.” Supermarket chain Publix made a post on X saying “We know a good place for a wedding cake.” Known mega swiftie company Starbucks posted “Are we supposed to keep talking about PSL like nothing happened???” Referring to their newly re-released fan favorite drink the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Wendy’s posted an Instagram story attaching the engagement announcement and writing “Can’t believe we got Travis Swift before GTA 6.” Soda company Poppi also posted custom soda cans with a football and books on them saying “crying screaming throwing up 😍😍😍💍💍💍 why does it feel like we just got engaged??? so excited for the happy couple #tayvis4ever.”
Needless to say, everyone is over the moon because of this news.
