Orchestra Hits a High Note
Students Shine, Qualify for All-Region Orchestra
On Saturday, October 5, many of Wakeland’s orchestra students participated in the TMEA Region 24 High School All-Region Orchestra auditions.
This is a highly competitive, annual event that draws nearly a thousand talented young musicians from across the entire region (Frisco, McKinney, Prosper and Little Elm). The students from public, private, and home schools compete for the limited number of spots in the three performing ensembles; two full (symphonic) groups, and one string orchestra.

In addition to that, the following students qualified to participate in the Area auditions – the process that leads to the All-State Orchestra!:

Finally, Jian Lee qualified as 1st Chair., the number one violin player in the entire region and will lead the Symphony Orchestra as Concertmaster at the All-Region clinics and concert on Dec. 13-14, 2024.
