This year at Wakeland High School, Mr. Andrews will be joining the staff as a new chemistry teacher. He will be bringing a fresh perspective to his classroom, and he is excited to get into the swing of the new school year.
“I am really excited about the culture here. It was very different from where I came from, and it really excites me to be working with students that really want to be here,” Andrews said.
Andrews has been teaching for five years, after earning his degree at Ashford University. He fell in love with teaching science in 2020.
“I love that little moment when you see a student finally understand, like a lightbulb going off. Then getting to sit down and finally appreciate the subject,” Andrews said.
Before coming to Wakeland, Andrews taught science at Little Elm High School. He is very passionate about teaching, and he strives to make learning fun for his students.
In his free time, he loves to hang out with his family.
“My family and I play Dungeons and Dragons a lot,” Andrews said.
Andrews also loves to travel, especially when it means spending quality time with his family. He loves creating memories and deepening connections through adventures.
“I have been to every continent on the planet besides Antarctica. Hopefully I will go there one day,” Andrews said.
Be sure to welcome Mr. Andrews to the Wakeland family!
