Wakeland teacher Mr. Drenowatz has been named DECA State Advisor of the Year, a well-deserved recognition for his outstanding dedication and impact on DECA.
“When someone statewide thinks that you do a really good job and you have a really big impact on kids and you’re doing it through a program that’s impacting their future, it’s really emotional,” Drano said.
Drano, as he is known to students and staff, is known for his endless support and his good spirits, which make everything fun. Here at Wakeland, Drano teaches social media marketing, advertising, and entrepreneurship.
“Ever since freshman year, when I had him as my social media marketing teacher, I knew we would get along great,” junior DECA member Reese Amador said.
Drano is seen as an encouraging teacher on campus and makes sure all his students feel heard and understood.
“Drano is very engaged with his students and makes you feel included in every conversation in class, no matter who you are,” junior Whitney Jamison said.
His passion, commitment, and ability to inspire have left a lasting mark on countless students, making this honor a true reflection of his incredible work.
