As senior quarterback Brennan Myer received the ball with a little over six minutes left in the first quarter, he looked for an open teammate and connected with senior wide receiver Ashdyn Kahouch for a three-yard reception for their first touchdown of the night on their way to a 42-0 Homecoming victory over Centennial on October 12, 2023.
“I didn’t play in the Liberty game [since] I was taking a week off with an injury, so it felt good [to score] to get that confidence back,” Kahouch said.
Not only was Kahouch the first one to score for the Wolverines but he also finished with 33 receiving yards and scored another time later in the game to give him two touchdowns on the night. As well as Kahouch’s performance, senior running back Cooper Snyder, junior wide receiver Ryder Treadway, and senior wide receiver Donovan Woolen added to the team’s great scoring output with one rushing touchdown from Snyder, two receiving touchdowns from Treadway, and one receiving touchdown from Woolen.
“Everyone doing their job [paid off],” Kahouch said. “As long as everyone does their job and does not focus on anyone else’s, we are able to come together and really execute.”
After losing to their rivals, Reedy and Lone Star, they have built confidence with two dominating performances in a row against Liberty and Centennial and are now 5-2 overall and 3-2 in district. As they look to keep the momentum going, they will play Lebanon Trail tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Toyota Stadium.
“We need to keep executing and keep doing the small things right because the small things will eventually lead up to a big outcome,” Kahouch said.
As they attempt to have another great result, they will need your help so buy tickets at https://tickets.friscoisd.org/.
“[Last game], everyone was in the stands, and the student section was packed…so I just wanted to put on a show,” Kahouch said.
