The Wakeland Wolverines defeated Argyle last night in a nail-biting game. Even though Wakeland won, Argyle wasn’t going down without a fight. The final score was 3-2.
School fans were on the edges of their seats watching this back-and-forth game, but Wakeland varsity triumphed in the last set!
Wakeland (34-6) advances to face Cedar Park (34-15) in the 5A Division II state championship match at noon Saturday back at the Curtis Culwell Center.
Wakeland has a chance to become the first Frisco ISD team to win state if they repeat their stellar performance on Saturday.
“Our motto this year has been to leave a legacy,” said Coach Womble. “And, that’s the legacy we want to have for our school.”
After an electrifying season, Coach Womble’s squad has already etched their names in the school’s record books.
