Although the excitement of football season has come to an end, this season was an incredible comeback story that showcased the potential and hard work of the team.
Behind the cheers of the crowd and the roar of Friday night lights, lies a strict routine of practice, strategy, and teamwork. From intense training sessions to careful game planning, every detail matters as the players and coaches focus on achieving their ultimate goal: a championship victory. But what does it really take to be playoff-ready?
We talked to two of our players, senior Jathan Vaughn and junior Jayden Maples to learn more about the team’s mindset.
To prepare for big games, the team “watches a lot of film, practices defense, and picks out the other team’s weaknesses,” Maples said.
Vaughn agrees with Maples that their preparedness comes through watching film.
The team also “listens to music before the game to lock in,” Vaughn said.
As the quarterback, Maples holds a leadership position and it is his responsibility to inspire other players on the team.
“I try to take charge, steer us in the right direction for success, have no distractions, and focus up for playoffs,” Maples said.
So, as football season comes to an end, the team can be proud of the hard work, determination, and teamwork that they have dedicated all season.
