The NFL playoffs have been underway for a couple weeks, and four teams have fought hard and managed to secure a spot in the semifinals. The remaining teams include the Washington Commanders, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, and Kansas City Chiefs, the reigning champions.
There are only two more games before the coveted Super Bowl, which will be held on February 9, 2025. and this weekend we will finally find out who will take the field for the biggest game of the season.
The Chiefs will face off against the Bills in the American Football Conference Championship in Kansas City. The winner will be crowned the AFC Champion and secure a Super Bowl spot.
Over in the National Football Conference, division rivals Eagles and Commanders will meet in Philadelphia to determine the winner of the NFC.
“It would be really cool to see the Commanders win. Jayden Daniels is a rookie and a rookie quarterback has never won a super bowl,” junior Kate Jones said.
The Commanders have not won a Super Bowl in 32 years, and many Commanders fans are very excited by the possibility of adding to their record.
“My dad really likes the Commanders, and I’ve never seen him get as excited over sports as he did when they beat the Lions last week,” junior Sophia Chavez said.
Despite appearing in four Super Bowl games, the Buffalo Bills have never won the championship in franchise history. Fans are hoping to make history this year, and their regular season win over the chiefs has given them hope.
The Chiefs have been on a rampage throughout the regular season, with a 15-2 record. Head coach Andy Reid has been praised for bringing the Chiefs their best record in franchise history.
The Eagles are the current favorites to win the whole thing, but with so many talented teams, it is anyone’s championship. The final few games are sure to be very intense, and this year’s Super Bowl is expected to bring in 120 million viewers.
