The Super Bowl 2025 matchup is set! Rival teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, will face off on February 9, 2025 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans in front of the eyes of the nation.
This game will be a rematch of Super Bowl 2023 where the two teams previously clashed. These teams’ last championship matchup saw the Chiefs come out victorious with a score of 38-35.
“I would like to see the Eagles win this year. I love watching Jalen Hurts play,” senior Erica Gentry said.
The Chiefs have won the last two Super Bowls, and they are in search of a three-peat. No team in the NFL has won three championships in a row since the Green Bay Packers won from 1929-31 and from 1965-67.
“I wish there were different teams this year, but I guess it’d be kind of cool to see the Chiefs three-peat. If we witness it we’d be able to say we witnessed history,” junior Ben Tserotas said.
Many people are upset that the Chiefs have made it back to the Super Bowl for the fifth time in ten years, accusing the team of cheating, bribing officials, and other unsupported claims. The NFL has confirmed that their games are not scripted and that no team is unfairly favored.
“I don’t think the Chiefs are cheating, they’re just really good. They’re fun to watch too, and I really hope they end up winning it all,” junior Sophia Chavez said.
