The roar of the crowd deafened spectators as the Wakeland baseball team completed the winning run against the Colony Cougars, ending the game with a stunning score of 5-0. Last Tuesday, on April 22, Wakeland baseball dominated the The Colony Cougars, raising its record. The boys, and all of Wakeland, hope to repeat the victory on April 25, when they play against The Colony again here at Wakeland in a face-to-face playoff competition.
“A lot of energy went into the game,” said Cooper Dillingham, Wakeland baseball player. “Especially knowing what was at stake.”
The exciting game bumped Wakeland’s record up to 20-6. Wakeland’s baseball team blazes through a 5-game winning streak! The pitching team aims to dominate the Colony Cougars again tonight at Wakeland, 7:30 p.m. Competition runs high, especially since tonight’s playoff game determines who will advance to districts.
