Wakeland Student Council is hosting a multicultural fair on February 6, 2025 at Wakeland High School during lunch. This event is meant to celebrate students’ various cultural backgrounds, and allow everyone to explore other cultures.
βAt Wakeland, we would like to celebrate and showcase the pride our students take in their rich cultural diversity,” Ms. Lancaster said. “During Power Lunch, all WHS students will have the opportunity to experience, learn about, and celebrate the various cultures that make our student body unique.”
The goal of the multicultural fair is to have a lot of different booths representing different heritages and countries, so the students of Wakeland can experience what these cultures have to offer. Participants may bring many different things to represent their culture. These items include snacks, decorations for your table, cultural artifacts, phone or speakers for music, performing traditional dances, and maps.
Heritage High School has hosted Multicultural Nights in the past, but very few high schools in the area have held similar events.
If you are interested in representing your culture, there is a QR code in front of the cafeteria with a form attached that you must fill out. Participating students will be allowed to leave their 2B class to set up their area. If you have any additional questions, please email Ms. Lancaster, the organizer of this event. If you wish to host a booth, the form is linked below.
