Crumbl Cookie has surged to the top of the dessert industry in recent years, but competitors like Dirty Dough are making their case as worthy rivals.
One of the biggest points of comparison is price. A single Crumbl cookie costs $4.49, while Dirty Dough sells for $4.12.
“They’re a little overpriced, but not that much because they’re that big of a cookie,” Crumbl employee Peyton said.
Many customers agree that size helps justify the price. Others say the lower cost at Dirty Dough makes it a more practical indulgence.
“I think the price is just right,” Dirty Dough team lead Shanele said. “They’re so big I have to cut them in half and save the rest for later.”
Crumbl’s massive popularity fuels a fast-paced workplace that can limit employee interaction with customers. Dirty Dough’s slower environment, on the other hand, gives staff more time to connect with buyers.
Both bakeries are known for oversized cookies, but their appeal goes beyond size. Crumbl rotates flavors weekly and markets its cookies in its signature pink box, making them difficult to replicate.
“Nobody else has the same cookie,” Peyton said. “You can’t really make them at home.”
Dirty Dough sets itself apart by stuffing every cookie and baking them fresh daily.
“They’re stuffed with goodness and made with love,” Shanele said. “They’re moist, flavorful and never dried out.”
