Frisco had been growing rapidly over the last few years. New schools and neighborhoods are constantly being built, so the possibility of new family attractions making their way to Frisco is exciting.

“Universal Parks & Resorts announces a one-of-a-kind theme park, unlike any other in the world,” Corporate Communications of Universal Parks & Resorts said.

Universal Parks & Resorts announced this additional park on January 11, 2023. The new theme park is directed toward the younger families of Frisco. It will consist of immersive theme lands and a green, forest-like environment. The park will also possibly have an adjacent themed hotel and even more room for expansion with the 97-acre plot of land the company bought.

“This new Universal concept will continue to enhance our tax base, expand employment opportunities and bring even more fun to Frisco benefiting our residents, businesses, and visitors,” Mayor Jeff Cheney said.

Not only will the new theme park offer another activity for Frisco residents, but it will also bring economic benefits that will improve the community’s life. As Mayor Cheney previously stated, the Universal concept has many opportunities for Frisco to continue to grow and prosper as it has for the past several years.

“We think North Texas is the perfect place to launch this unique park for families given its growing popularity within this part of the country” President of New Ventures and Universal Parks & Resorts, Page Thompson said.

The new Universal theme park is an exciting addition to the Frisco community.
