Mrs. Ringstaff. Coach Ringstaff. Mom.

No matter what she is called she always seems to make an impression on the people she crosses. She is not only a teacher at Wakeland but also a cheer coach. However, teaching was not always in her plans.

“I had just had my first baby and I was staying at home after working in healthcare. I fully intended on going into healthcare,” food science and culinary teacher and freshman cheer coach Mrs. Ringstaff said.

Even so, Mrs. Ringstaff was influenced to teach by some of her friends at the time. She said that when she saw how much her friends loved influencing and teaching their kids, she knew she wanted to do the same. So, even with an unconventional way of getting here, she loves what she does.

“I like teaching food science because I like the science part of the course. It is also a fun and interactive course for students that learn better with hands-on curriculum. Also, I love the cheerleaders at Wakeland and the amazing support that I get from their families. I love being involved within the school and cheer gives me that opportunity,” Mrs. Ringstaff said.

Her enthusiasm for working with kids has made her an exceptional teacher, coach, and coworker.

“Ringstaff is a great listener and friend. We are very much of the same mindset. We have a great work and personal relationship. It’s always great when your coworker becomes your friend – and even an extension of your family. I love her, my daughter loves her, our cheerleaders love her, and her students love her,” journalism teacher and varsity cheer coach Mrs. Steinhauser said.

Not only do her coworkers love her but her students do as well. They all agree that she is determined and hardworking. She pushes people to be the best version of themselves.

“She’s always determined to help us become better people and cheerleaders. She’s always motivating and she has made freshman year such a great one. She’s helped me become a better cheerleader for sure,” freshman Kylie Honeybone said.

Mrs. Ringstaff is a phenomenal person and teacher with big goals for the future. Teaching culinary arts and food science while being a mom of four kids is not an easy task, but everyday she strives to continue positively influencing the lives of her students.
