This week from March 24-25, both Wakeland girl and boy soccer teams are competing in the UIL soccer playoffs. The regional semifinals are March 27-29, followed by the regional finals March 31-April 1, and the state tournament April 3-12. Last year the girls varsity team won state, and the boys finishing in second. Although the teams have talent and experience, they will be competing against a whopping 15 FISD soccer teams competing in playoffs this week, setting up for an intense competition. We wish both Wakeland soccer teams luck this week!

Chloe Ruch, Reporter
Hi, I’m Chloe Ruch! I’m a senior, and this is my second year in journalism. I enjoy writing about new trends, reviews, and Wakeland news. I am also a member of the National Charity League class of 2025. In my free time I like to hang out with my friends and try new things. I’m most likely going to be attending the University of Arkansas and maybe majoring in nursing.

Avery Morgan, Reporter
Hi. My name is Avery Morgan, and I am currently a senior. This is my second year on the yearbook staff, but it is my first year writing for Wakeland access. I am in NHS and PALs, and I volunteer in projects outside of the school for my church and community. I enjoy traveling, hanging out with friends, and going to concerts, especially Taylor Swift. I am planning to attend the University of Alabama and study psychology. I am so excited to be part of this organization, and I cannot wait to grow!
