Students at Wakeland take initiative to achieve their career goals through independent study and mentorship, working toward projects in their chosen fields.
Corrine Morton, an Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) mentor and student, has written songs to further her research in music.
“In ISM this year I’m studying music production. I’m working with a producer, shadowing him in the studio, and I get to work on my own projects and learn all about music production and recording in a studio,” Morton said. “For my original work I created three original songs that for my final product later in the year I’ll be able to record, produce, and hopefully release.”
Music is just one of the many fields students choose to study in ISM. Working with students and adults, these projects demonstrate the growth students achieve toward their potential careers.
