This year’s football season is in full swing, with fun themes to show off your Wakeland pride.

Wakeland started strong, winning their homecoming game against Grapevine High School on August 29, 2024, with a score of 14-10. Students wore their Mums and Garters to kick off the homecoming weekend.

On September 5, 2024, Wakeland lost to the Colony High School in overtime, with a final score of 35-36. The student section was super colorful with a tie-dye theme.

Wakeland celebrated the USA by wearing red, white, and blue, when the team played Lebanon Trail High School on September 13, 2024. It was an exciting back-and-forth game, with Wakeland ultimately winning 50-32.

Wakeland will face off against one of their biggest rivals, Reedy High School, this Friday, September 20, 2024. The theme is Orange Out, so be sure to show off your school spirit and deck out in orange!

On September 26, 2024, Wakeland will play against Mckinney North High School. For this game, be sure to take part in Throwback Thursday and dress from your favorite decade!

Wear a jersey as we play Centennial High School on October 4, 2024. This is Centennial’s homecoming game, so be sure to bring the energy!

October 11, 2024, is our Pink Out game, in support of Breast Cancer awareness. You can support the cause by purchasing a Pink Out shirt or by dressing in pink pajamas as we put the Heritage Coyotes to sleep.

Another big game, is Wakeland vs Frisco High School. Be sure to dress out of this world on October 18, 2024.

Celebrate our seniors on October 24, 2024, for our Senior White Out game against Lonestar High School!

Finally, to end the season we play Sherman High School on Halloween! You can wear your favorite Halloween costume, but please leave the masks at home.

Hi! I'm Mia Skirha. I am now a junior at Wakeland, and this is my second year in yearbook. Last year was everything I wanted and more, so I had to come back! This year I am covering Golf and JV Football, while also staying active on Wakeland Access. When I'm not at school, I'm usually playing volleyball or working. I play club volleyball, both indoor and outdoor, and my family pretty much lives and breathes volleyball. I am also a barista at Yiayia's Coffeehouse, where I have been working for almost two years. I am so excited for another year with this community and Stein!

Hi! My name is Soha Ahmed, and I'm a senior at Wakeland. I am the photo editor for the Wakeland Yearbook, and this is my second year in journalism. Outside of school, I love figure skating, hanging out with friends, and playing Dress to Impress. I hope to go to UT Austin and study Neuroscience.
