Wakeland Softball Wins Bi-District Title, Baseball Opens Playoffs This Week

Wakeland’s softball and baseball teams are making strong playoff pushes as the postseason begins.

The softball team swept its first-round playoff series in dominant fashion, winning both games by run rule to claim the bi-district championship. The team defeated its opponent 20-3 and 14-3, advancing to the next round. Details for the upcoming series have not yet been announced.

Baseball begins its playoff run this week with a first-round series against Frisco High School. The teams will face off April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Wakeland and May 1 at Smotherman Baseball Field.

Fans are encouraged to support Wakeland athletes as both teams continue their playoff journeys.
