One of the best things to do around Frisco is enjoy the wide variety of delicious food, but this hobby can be expensive. Finding tasty food at an affordable price can be a challenge, but we have a solution for sushi lovers. The $5 sushi days at Market Street, Sprouts, Target, and Kroger provide a tempting opportunity to enjoy sushi without breaking the bank. Here’s a breakdown of our experience with each store’s selection and our favorites:
Market Street’s sushi exceeded our expectations with its exceptional quality and flavor. We tried the Shrimp Tempura roll, and it was exceptional with its perfect balance of spice and crunch. The subtle kick from the hint of spice elevated the roll, while the crispy tempura provided a satisfying texture that complemented the fresh ingredients. Each bite was a delightful experience and showed the attention to detail that Market Street puts into its sushi offerings. If you’re a fan of sushi with a bit of excitement and a satisfying crunch, this roll is definitely worth trying.
Sprouts offered a decent selection of $5 sushi, but it didn’t quite match the quality of Market Street. While the ingredients are fresh and the rolls were tasty, they lacked the depth of flavor we found elsewhere. We got Chef Sampler #3, which includes the crunchy, rainbow, and chili rolls. Our favorite was the rainbow roll because of the fresh and ripe avocado flavor. The sushi at Sprouts was good for a quick snack, but it did not have the same standout qualities as Market Street.
Kroger’s $5 Caterpillar roll includes avocado and imitation crab, and is visually appealing with its distinctive “caterpillar” presentation. While it did not pack as much flavor as some other sushi places, its freshness and quality still shone through. The avocado provided a creamy texture, and the roll’s overall taste was enjoyable. For its price, the Caterpillar roll at Kroger is a solid choice.
Target’s Hissho Sushi Philadelphia Roll offers a flavorful option for sushi lovers wanting a quick, affordable bite. This roll combines smoked salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber, delivering a creamy and satisfying taste with a touch of smokiness. The freshness of the ingredients is evident, making it a solid choice for those who want to enjoy a sushi fix without straying too far from budget. Overall, Target’s Hissho Sushi Philadelphia Roll delivers good value and a pleasant taste experience.
