Wakeland students are invited to participate in the “Feed the City” service event this Tuesday, March 31, after school in the cafeteria. The project, hosted by Student Council, encourages students to donate food items and help prepare care bags for individuals and families in need.
“It is a really good opportunity to give back to my community and help people who are less fortunate than us,” sophomore Ella Blodgett said. “It’s amazing that a group of high school students can get together to help make our community better.”
Each participant is asked to bring one food item to donate and assist in packing donation bags that will go directly to local residents experiencing food insecurity. Students can sign up to bring items at https://bit.ly/signup-stuco-feedthecity.
The event also provides an ideal opportunity for National Honor Society members or applicants to complete required service hours before upcoming deadlines. The NHS service-hour deadline for the 2025–2026 school year is April 1, with applications due April 3.
Feed the City offers Wakeland students a meaningful chance to serve their community and make a positive difference. Students are encouraged to sign up, bring a food item and lend a helping hand.
