Frisco’s growth continues to make headlines with the upcoming opening of the Universal Kids resort, set to debut this May. The new attraction will be the first Universal resort designed specifically for children ages 3 to 9 and is expected to draw thousands of visitors nationwide.
“I have little siblings, and they’re really excited to visit,” said junior Ella Henry. “It’s perfect for their age range, and it’ll be fun to watch them enjoy it.”
The park, smaller than Orlando’s Universal Studios but offering the same quality experience, will feature seven themed areas including Shrek’s Swamp, TrollsFest, and SpongeBob SquarePants’ Bikini Bottom. Expected attendance could reach 7,500 visitors on weekdays and up to 20,000 on weekends or holidays. While many are eager for the summer opening, some residents have expressed concerns about the resort’s location near Trent Middle School and nearby neighborhoods.
“My uncle lives over there, and we’re really worried about the traffic and noise,” said sophomore Elizabeth Scott.
Despite mixed opinions, anticipation is high among students hoping to engage with the new attraction. “I hope to get a job there this summer,” said sophomore Saya Pour. “It seems really fun to work there.”
Universal Kids Resort will be located at 13850 Dallas Parkway, Frisco, TX 75035, right off the busy Dallas North Tollway and Panther Creek Parkway.
