Wakeland will host its annual spring football game May 12, offering more than just a preview of next season’s team — it will serve as a community-wide event featuring performances, activities and local organizations.
“The spring game is an intersquad scrimmage for our fans to enjoy a chance to see our players compete and preview next year’s team,” football coach Chandler Isom said.
As Wakeland prepares to move into the 6A division next season, the game will also give fans an early look at new talent and potential standout players on the 2026–27 roster.
“It’s really fun because it brings the community together with dancing, football and a snow cone truck,” junior football player Brady Winters said.
In addition to the scrimmage, the event will include performances by the Wakeland cheer team and Legacy Line, along with games and activities designed for all ages.
“My favorite thing about the spring football game is the dancing,” junior cheerleader Taylor Hamblin said.
With a mix of football, entertainment and community involvement, the spring game aims to create a memorable experience and build excitement for the upcoming season.
