The Wolverines aren’t done yet — with playoffs on deck, Wakeland is ready to make its mark when it matters most.
After an incredible, record-breaking regular season that ended with a 9–1 record, Wakeland’s varsity football team has earned its spot as the No. 2 seed in the district. Through moments of trial and triumph, the Wolverines have shown grit, growth, and the heart of champions all season long.
The playoffs started on Friday, Nov. 14 at the Star, where Wakeland defeated Newman Smith 28-12. Their second round game will be against Cedar Park on Friday, Nov. 21.
From the season opener to the final whistle, Wakeland’s dominance on both offense and defense has been hard to miss. The offense has delivered explosive, powerful, and memorable plays — consistently putting points on the board. Meanwhile, the defense has proven its strength and discipline, defending the land with heart, intensity, and pride
