The Wolverines are gearing up for the start of both the baseball and softball seasons. The athletes for both programs always display heart, dedication, and determination when they take the field. As the first games approach, here’s an inside look at the preparations the teams have been working on.
Last season, softball dominated with a record of 21-6, and secured second place in the district! The program is entering a new era for the 2026 season as Tiffany Weise officially takes the title as head coach.
Despite the pressure her new title brings, she’s already working hard to ready the squad. The girls are ready to bring a new level of energy and excitement to the upcoming season. Pushing each other every day, they’re determined to show that last year’s success was only the beginning. “We’re staying prepared for softball by working hard in practice and putting in effort.” said Freshman Kacie King.
Coming off a stellar 29-8 season and a first place finish in the district, the Wolverines baseball team is ready to build on last year’s success. With high expectations set, the team has been focused on getting things done.
One of the Wolverines biggest strengths is their admirable and strong team bond. The players have shown a commitment to working together on and off the field, pushing each other to improve every day. “We’re all really close, pretty much best friends, and that gives us extra energy on the field. Not every team has that, and it definitely helps us perform better and win.” said Junior Cruz Veloz.
With excitement building and goals set high, Wakeland looks forward to another competitive season. Good luck to both baseball and softball.
