Last week, on January 17th , Wakeland BPA competed in its first-ever regional competition. With 80 students participating, the team represented Wakeland across a wide range of competitive events, marking an exciting milestone for the chapter and showcasing the dedication and hard work of its members.
Wakeland did outstanding for their first year as a BPA chapter. “I think we did really well, especially for a first year chapter,” BPA officer Vedant Dutta said. “We sent more students than some schools who have had chapters for multiple years.”
The BPA chapter had 19 state qualifiers and 15 state alternates, highlighting the success of its competitive preparation and teamwork. The students competed across a variety of events in over 90 categories, under six Assessment Areas including: Finance, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Digital Communication & Design, Management, and Marketing & Communication.
BPA will compete at the State Leadership Conference in Dallas from March 5th through 8th. After those competitions, students have the opportunity to advance to the National Leadership Conference in May. Let’s wish our fellow Wolverines good luck!
