As the spring semester begins, Wakeland High School Class of 2026 enters their final stretch of high school, with some fun upcoming senior events to mark the end of their high school journey
In April, seniors can expect a friendly Powderpuff game that combines fun and school spirit. More information is expected to come soon. Seniors also have the opportunity to return to where it all started. Starting on April 27th, Griffin Middle School is hosting a celebration for students who attended. Cobb Middle School is having its event on April 29th. Fisher Elementary, Carroll Elementary, Pink Elementary, and Corbell Elementary are hosting their events on May 8th, Purefoy and Bledsoe are holding their celebration on the 15th of May, and the remaining middle schools and elementary schools have not yet announced a date to Wakeland Staff. Be on the lookout for updates about your middle school or elementary school’s celebration!
Senior Assassin is another fun and traditional senior event to look out for. No information has been released to seniors about the event yet. May brings the final but most anticipated events of the year, kicking off with the most hyped: a trip to Six Flags Over Texas. No dates or further details have yet been released for that event. On May 2nd, prom will be held at the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star. Tickets are available now through Online School Fees.
A Traditional Baccalaureate Ceremony will be held on May 17th. This is an optional ceremony, but it honors students through prayer and a meaningful rose ceremony. Tickets are sold at $25 for this event.
During graduation week, Seniors can look forward to closing their high school chapter with a Senior Sunset on May 18th. Students will have one last opportunity to gather with their peers on the Wakeland campus grounds with food and games. Tickets for senior sunset are $20. On May 19th, seniors will gather for their Senior Walk, a final walkthrough of Wakeland’s halls, before attending a Senior Breakfast. Tickets for the breakfast are $30. Parents and Wolverines are invited to cheer the seniors on as they exit the building after the walk.
Senior events conclude on May 20th, with graduation held at The Star in Frisco. The Class of 2026 is scheduled to have its ceremony at 5:30 pm.
While each event has its own excitement, together they mark the end of 4 years of friendship, challenges, growth, and achievements. For the Class of 2026, these final months are more than a celebration; they are about recognizing how far they have come on their high school journey.
Congratulations to the Wakeland Senior Class of 2026!
