As the halls emptied and backpacks zipped shut, there was only one thing on students’ minds. SPRING BREAK!!! Whether traveling across the country or staying home, students are finding different ways to recharge before the final stretch of school.
After all the snowstorms and the cold weather, many students are looking forward to the sunny weather. “For spring break, I am going to Naples, Florida,” sophomore Charlotte Coleman says, “I am looking forward to the beach.
The weather is dfenet;y something to look forward to. There are also many activities full of fun and an opportunity to spend time with families. “I am going to LA during spring break”, freshman Michael Tonyan says, “I am excited to go to Disneyland.”
Not every spring break requires a plane ticket. Many students chose to stay local, using the time to catch up on essential needs such as sleep, spend time with family and friends, or relax at home and enjoy the warm Texas weather. Some even participate in camps and college visits as the end of the year gets closer.
Beyond traveling and relaxing, spring break is also very important for students and teachers as a mental reset. With upcoming big exams and end-of-year schoolwork, this one week of taking their minds off school allows them to reflect and set goals for the rest of the school year. Students must use this time wisely and get the rest they need.
Regardless of how it was spent, spring break is a much-needed break for all of us.
