According to the Frisco ISD news website, the calendar for the next academic school year was planned around state requirements, teacher preferences, and the PGA Championship.

Nearly 12,000 people (parents and staff) were surveyed to plan the new calendar. In coordination with the City of Frisco and the Frisco Police Departments, the Frisco ISD decided to end the school year one day earlier than normal.

The high school schedule will also change – and include an additional five minutes, ending the day at 4:40.

The first day of school will be Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026; the last day of school will be Friday, May 14, 2027, said Frisco ISD.
