On February 7th, Wakeland wrestlers headed to Dallas to compete at regionals. With ten students advancing to regionals, the team rose to the challenge with strong performances. They had 5 wrestlers advancing to state.

Eli Johnson 120lbs Senior 2nd
Josey Gates 120lbs Senior 3rd
Bryce Mclellan 150lbs Senior 5th
This past weekend, the wrestlers arrived at state, finishing off the season with senior Eli Johnson becoming a two-time state placer and the team finishing 6th.
This season, Wakeland Wrestling has achieved multiple milestones, including their first-ever district win, the entire girls’ team advancing to regionals, 5 athletes advancing to state, and many memorable moments to look back on.
