Every morning and afternoon, the school parking lot becomes one of the busiest places on campus. Engines start, students walk between rows of cars, and everyone is focused on getting where they need to go. But in those rushed moments, safety can easily be overlooked – and that’s when accidents are most likely to happen.
Being aware of your surroundings is just as important. Drivers should constantly check mirrors, look both ways at intersections, and stay alert for students walking behind or beside their vehicles. At the same time, pedestrians should avoid distractions like phones and headphones when crossing lanes, making sure to look carefully before stepping out.
School administrators have emphasized that safety in the parking lot is a shared responsibility. By working together – driving slowly, staying alert, and watching out for one another – we can make sure everyone arrives and leaves campus safely.
